Tasting Notes

A rare Passito-style sweet red wine made from Sagrantino, an indigenous grape variety proudly cultivated in Montefalco. This special wine, with its concentrated fruit and complex aromas from dried grapes, is truly unique.

Aromas of ripe dark fruits like dark cherry and black plum are complemented by deep nuances of coffee and tobacco. While possessing an intense sweetness, it is supported by the powerful structure characteristic of Sagrantino, leading to a rich and long finish.

This luxurious wine offers a complexity and presence that sets it apart from typical dessert wines.

Pairing

It pairs wonderfully with chocolate desserts and aged cheeses, as well as with dishes like aged beef, roasted duck, and those served with berry sauces.

Recommended not only as a post-meal dessert wine but also as a perfect conclusion to a special dinner.

About the Winemaking

Carefully selected Sagrantino grapes are hand-harvested and further sorted at the winery. Only the highest quality fruits are used.

The traditional Montefalco Passito method concentrates the grape's flavor and sugar. The rich tannins and dense fruit flavor, unique to Sagrantino, are beautifully expressed in perfect balance.

About the Winery

Le Thadee is an Umbrian winery established in 2018 by the Natali family, who have a long history of grape cultivation. They acquired prime vineyards in Montefalco and manage the entire process from cultivation to winemaking and bottling.

They practice organic farming, creating wines that respect the unique characteristics of the land. They also own rare old vines that predate the phylloxera epidemic, producing wines that connect Umbria's tradition with its future.

The philosophy of Le Thadee, a winery gaining attention for its high-quality, small-batch production, is fully embodied in this wine.
