Tasting Notes

This is a special Franciacorta, made using only grapes harvested in the best vintages and aged for over 8 years.

From the glass, rich aromas of vanilla and nutty notes like almond, along with hints of freshly baked bread and brioche, spread generously.

The palate is extremely delicate and creamy. The crisp, dry taste unique to Extra Brut is wonderfully balanced with the deep complexity derived from aging.

Pairing

With its delicate bubbles and excellent balance, it pairs wonderfully with a wide range of dishes, from appetizers to main courses.

It goes well with seafood, white fish, crustaceans, and chicken dishes, as well as Japanese cuisine and sushi.

This versatile Franciacorta can be enjoyed throughout a meal, making it perfect for special dinners and celebrations.

About the Winemaking

Grapes harvested by hand are rigorously selected and fermented using the traditional method (Metodo Classico) with secondary fermentation in the bottle.

A portion is fermented in oak barrels to give the wine softness and complexity, and then aged with yeast for approximately 8 years.

After disgorgement, it is aged for another 5 months in the cellar, making it a long-aged Franciacorta released approximately 9 years after harvest.

About the Winery

Marzaghe Franciacorta is a family-owned winery that produces wine in the hilly area located between Mount Alto and Mount Orfano in Franciacorta.

They pursue high-quality Franciacorta with extremely creamy and delicate bubbles from long-term aging, and rich aromas.

All wines are produced as vintages, using only the highest quality grapes from the best years. Annual production is limited to approximately 45,000-50,000 bottles, adhering to a philosophy that prioritizes quality above all else.

They are highly regarded as one of the few producers who truly pursue the essence of Franciacorta.
